The name Vedic Village is synonymous with luxury, being located in nature’s lap and having an ayurvedic spa.It is located in the outskirts of the city,so it might be a bit of a challenge to reach this place. However, the place is worth taking the trouble for,if you are planning a weekend getaway with your family in a three star resort.A big thanks to team ThinkQuisitive for arranging such an uncommon yet a wonderful event at Vedic Village for food bloggers like us.
On entering,we were seated at “Chai”,their tea lounge, and greeted with cold towels and a welcome drink. We were a bit hungry after such a long journey,so we were offered some of their freshly made cookies.Just a warm up before the main event! After this,we headed towards “Agnee”,the indoor cum outdoor lounge bar of Vedic Village. It has a very good
view of the pool. The outdoor seating area is a patio which one will definitely enjoy during monsoons as well as winters.Though the prices of the drinks are on the higher side, one usually does not mind spending a bit more during vacations!
We were served the following drinks:-
Originally prepared with local spirits blended with cucumber juice, the modern version of Cocombrita, which earlier was prepared with local spirit, uses Corralejo Premium Tequilla.A signature drink of the bar, this one is a modern variation to a classic royal drink supposedly enjoyed by the local zamindars. Also, the drink is served as a shooter. If asked for, they serve this in a Margherita glass as well. The alcoholic percentage is a bit low and should be increased.
An all time favorite of all ladies! This had little vodka and more cranberry juice.Again, the proportion of alcohol is too less which is a bit of a concern if you plan to order this.
A sweet cocktail made with white rum, strawberry liqueur & lime juice, this too was done neatly by the bartender.
Tequila & orange juice served in a whiskey glass with diced orange peels as garnish. This was visually appealing and tasted great too.It had a tangy yet strong flavor.
This was prepared from vodka and vermouth, garnished with an olive. This one was strong compared to the rest, but tasted really great. Finally I got a cocktail which was strong.
The perfect summer cooler mocktail. Watermelon juice served in a beer mug with lots of ice cubes & garnished with mint leaves,a summer cooler couldn’t get better.
I was actually quite impressed with their prompt and courteous service, which one might say is expected in a resort, but not all resorts offer such hospitality. We all had a great time at “Agnee”.If you are looking for a luxurious weekend experience, this is the place to come to.
